  1. I would urge you to reconsider your choice.
Autism Speaks, as a 'charity' spend 3% of it's revenue on actually helping autistic people.
The other 97% is spent on it's 'awareness' videos, eugenics research and on lining the leadership's pockets.
Not to mention the vast majority of the autistic community is in opposition to Autism Speaks and it's 'cures'.

"Imagine, if you will, that an organization existed by the name of “Womanhood Speaks,” which, on the surface, appeared to be in support of women’s rights.
Now imagine that the governing body of this organization only included members of the male gender, with not one female represented in its ranks. Imagine that its actual aim was to create a registry of all females and force them to become more masculine, completely disregarding the fact that a majority of females were perfectly content with their womanhood and even found it to be advantageous. Imagine that members of its leadership appeared on popular TV programs talking about the epidemic of womanhood and how it needed to be eradicated.
Doesn’t sound too appealing, does it?"

  3. Sorry you feel that way. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

  4. But Unknown, this is not an opinion.
    This is fact.
    Pure, unbridled fact.
Autism Speaks does not help autistic people.
This is a fact, because I can prove it to be true.
Because Autism Speaks only spends 3% of it's earnings on actual autistic people and 97% on trying to eradicate them or making videos about how terrible autistic children are, thus it cannot be helping them.
(I cannot be bothered to find a link for you Unknown, but if you are interested I am sure a quick google will lead you to the data.)
It is not an opinion, because an opinion cannot be proven true or false.
Like, it is my opinion Autism Speaks actively harms Autistic people and should be shut down, but I do not have the data to conclusively prove it!
But I has already been proven Autism Speaks helps autistic people far less than, say, the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, which makes it a fact.
